M98r RifleType: Rifle Ammunition Type: 8x57mm fragmentation Operation: Semi-automatic sonnecoil Magazine size: 5 round stripper clip Rate of Fire: 260 rpm Designed: 2698 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: The bread and butter of the Coalition Army for the first half of the Galactic War, the M98r rifle is one of the most widely produced weapon systems in the galaxy. It is a semi-automatic variant of the old M98 sonnecoil, the Coalition's first sonnecoil rifle. The relatively low ammo capacity per clip and per soldier is intended to make sure every soldier works to hit their target, as opposed to adopting a "spray and pray" tactic. It has been phased out in favor of the M43 battle rifle in Coalition Army service, but countless Pactist forces still use the M98r. The M98r remains in Army service as a sniper rifle.
M98c CarbineType: Carbine Ammunition Type: 7.75x33mm fragmentation Operation: Selective fire sonnecoil Magazine size: 15 round box magazine Rate of Fire: 850 rpm Designed: 2698 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: The M98's little brother, the M98 carbine was designed for use by the Marine Corps and Presidential Guard. During the Coalition-Judean War, the M98 served capably in the hands of Marine units during their assaults on Judean anti-orbital emplacements. By the time of the Galactic War, the M98 had been phased out in favor of the M41 and surplus M98s went into the hands of reserve units, military police and the Coalition's allies in the Inner Sphere. Billions of M98s were captured by the Conseil Systems during their advance into the Inner Sphere and were copied in the form of the ST-5 Battle Rifle.
M41 Battle RifleType: Battle Rifle Ammunition Type: 8x51mm fragmentation Operation: Semi-automatic sonnecoil Magazine size: 20 round box magazine Rate of Fire: 500 rpm Designed: 2741 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: The Coalition Marine Corps' primary rifle during the early Galactic War era, the M41 was the pinnacle of military small arms at the time. With more rounds and stopping power thanks to its stronger magnet, it is much longer-ranged and much more versatile than the Army’s M98r.
M43 Battle RifleType: Battle Rifle Ammunition Type: 8x57mm fragmentation Operation: Selective-fire sonnecoil Magazine size: 20 round box magazine Rate of Fire: 750 rpm Designed: 2743 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: Based on the Marines' M41, the M43 Battle Rifle was designed to give Coalition infantrymen a more rapid-fire weapon in the face of the bunker and trench raids that defined the Galactic War. The constant need to reload cost millions of Coalition soldiers their lives and the Army demanded a way to cut down on casualties. After hearing about the M41 the Marines were using, Army officers demanded one for use in the Army. Thus, the M43 was born. Unlike the M41, the M43 is selective-fire, allowing the user to lay down suppressing fire if the situation warrants it. However, the M43 is still intended for a shoot-to-kill role and its rate of fire is slow compared to the M42.
M44 AutorepeaterType: Autorepeater Ammunition Type: 8x33 mm fragmentation Operation: Automatic sonnecoil Magazine size: 30 round box magazine Rate of Fire: 600 rpm Designed: 2744 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: Designed to compete against the M43, the M44 Autorepeater is the galaxy's first sonnecoil autorepeater. While not adopted as the replacement to the aging M98r because of its complex mechanisms and relative expense, the M44 became a favorite for elite units engaging in close-quarters combat. By the 2770s, the Marine Corps and Presidential Guard have adopted the M44 as their primary service rifle.
M42 Volley GunType: Volley Gun Ammunition Type: 8.5x57 mm fragmentation Operation: Automatic sonnecoil Magazine size: 500-round belt feed Rate of Fire: 2500 rpm Designed: 2742 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: The bane of the Coalition's many enemies, the M42 volley gun is found in every Coalition Army squad. The distinctive "screech" sound of the gun is a result of its extremely high rpm, the highest of any standard-issue volley guns. The only setback is that the user must constantly reload the gun, often necessitating another soldier to do so quickly. Normal Coalition tactics involve one set of M42s firing at one time with another set ready to fire as soon as the first set needs to reload.
M40 MinivolleyType: Minivolley Ammunition Type: 150 kV sonnematerial Operation: Automatic sonnematerial Magazine size: 32-round battery Rate of Fire: 500 rpm Designed: 2740 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: The friend of vehicle crews and special forces everywhere in the Springfield Pact, the M40 minivolley is a light, compact gun that can nonetheless force the enemy to keep his head down. M40s are uncommon on the battlefield due to their limited assignment but are great for clearing out rooms. Like all sonnematerial weapons, the M40 is completely silent, but the distinctive teal glow of M40 sonnematerial make them very visible.
M13 Executioner PistolType: Pistol Ammunition Type: Class 0.25 EMSEL Operation: Semi-automatic EMSEL Magazine size: 50-round battery Rate of Fire: 100 rpm Designed: 2702 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: One of the strangest weapons designed by the Coalition, the M13 Executioner is named after its one very specific use. The Executioner sacrifices range and firepower for a long-lived battery and very compact size. Executioners are commonly found in the hands of officers who have to deal with untrustworthy subordinates, such as the Conscript Force, field medics and DSS and NCPDF agents who often find themselves faced with rows and rows of prisoners.
M11 PistolType: Pistol Ammunition Type: Class 1 EMSEL Operation: Single-action EMSEL Magazine size: 8-round battery Rate of Fire: N/A Designed: 2681 Developer: Coalition of Western Republics
Description: One of the oldest military weapons still in service with the Coalition, the M11 is rugged and dependable, if lacking in range, firepower and rate of fire. Hundreds of billions of M11s have been manufactured throughout the galaxy and its users are many: police forces, civilians and even the United Technocracies. The M11 is a favorite among the Marines, who use it when they're feeling cocky just as often as they use them as last resort weapons.
